Luss General Store is a boutique in the picturesque Scottish village of Luss. They offer a stylish selection of products from handmade greetings cards to locally sourced gin and whisky. They are famous for their support of niche and unique craftspeople extends beyond across the whole of Scotland. They only source products from producers whose principles are in line with their commitment to environmental and social sustainability.
The problem
The Luss General Store had already been on the Shopify platform for a while for their ecommerce site but were still struggling with regards to having full transparency of their stock online and in shop as well as keeping the online stock levels accurate.
This combined with an aging point of sale system was meaning that in their incredibly busy periods, the manual process of keeping everything up to date and in sync was fast becoming an impossible task.
What we did
The main aim of this project as to create a connected ecosystem through which Luss General Stores could fully manage and report on all their purchasing, their stock levels and their in shop sales in the one place. To do this we used Stocky to manage their suppliers, their purchasing and stock requirement predictions. The Shopify POS was then used to manage their in shop sales via multiple till systems and several walk around ipad only POS and Shopify ecommerce was used to manage their online sales.
The Squashed Pixel team worked onsite at the store to install and set up all the required hardware followed by 3 days of end to end training and workshopping for whole cashier, accounting, warehouse and management teams.
We continue to work with Luss Estates in a supporting role and helping to onboard new staff as required.
